Wasted Food

“About 400 gallons of oil are expended to feed one person for a year, roughly equivalent to thirty-three car refuelings. Food transport represents more than 20% of all U.S. good shipped. The average food item travels 1,500 miles before its eaten (or thrown away). ”

—-American Wasteland, Johnthan Bloom

As you move into the Witch’s New Year, don’t take this habit of wasting food with you. Make a resolution to change this  habit that destroys our land as well as our wallets. Find a local farm this year to partner with for the regular and reliable delivery of produce, from eggs and vegetables to fruits and meats. It’s better for you, for the farmer, and for the Land.
